The Achievement We are thrilled to announce that the Walton High School’s Science Olympiad Team has earned the incredible honor of qualifying for the 2026 National Science Olympiad Tournament, to be held May 22–23, 2026, in Los Angeles, California! This prestigious honor is the result of three years of relentless dedication, academic excellence, and teamwork by our students and coaches.

About Walton Science Olympiad: Since 1994, Walton Science Olympiad has been a powerhouse of STEM education. We are more than just a club; we are a community that values ingenuity, creativity, and collaboration. Our students don’t just study science—they live it. Through complex building events and rigorous testing, they learn to solve real-world problems while building friendships that last a lifetime.

This achievement marks the culmination of three years of exceptional growth and dominance in STEM competition.

A Track Record of Excellence: Our team has consistently proven they are among the best in the nation. Over the last three seasons, we have seen a remarkable trajectory of success:

  • 2026 Season (Current): Georgia State Champions (1st Place). We also secured 1st Place at the UGA Invitational, Brookwood Invitational, and the Highlands Invitational, and 2nd Place at the prestigious Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invitational.
  • 2025 Season: Georgia State Champions (1st Place) and ranked 23rd in the Nation. We also took 1st Place at the UGA and Brookwood Invitationals and 2nd Place at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
  • 2024 Season: 3rd Place at the Georgia State Tournament. We secured 1st Place at the CarSO Invitational (UNC) and achieved Top 5 finishes at the Harvard Invitational.

What is Science Olympiad? Often described as the “Olympics of Science,” Science Olympiad is the nation’s premier team STEM competition. It is not just a science fair; it is a rigorous cross-disciplinary challenge that requires students to apply advanced concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Through intensive building events and complex testing scenarios, students develop critical skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and technological innovation—skills that are essential for the future workforce.
