Welcome, parents, students, coaches, and volunteers, to another exciting year of Walton Science Olympiad! We’re thrilled to begin the 2026–27 season with approximately 70 talented students, an incredible group of student leaders, and a dedicated community of parents and volunteers.

We are deeply grateful to Mr. Wolfe and Mr. Curtis for the countless hours they dedicate to teaching, mentoring, and leading our students. Their knowledge, commitment, and guidance are a tremendous part of what makes Walton Science Olympiad successful.
We are equally proud of our student officers and event leaders. Week after week, they bring enthusiasm, intelligence, initiative, and diligence to the team—and help create an environment where students challenge themselves, learn from one another, and grow together.
🚀 A New Season. New Events. New Challenges.
We’re off to another exciting year of remote and in-person tournaments, with the hope of culminating in Nationals at The Ohio State University.
Our students will compete across 23 exciting events, including several new events this year:

🌡️ Thermodynamics
🧬 Protein Modeling
Some events challenge students through tests and deep subject knowledge. Others involve engineering, construction, experimentation, and problem-solving. Many combine both testing and building. Together, these events give students opportunities to develop skills in science, engineering, teamwork, creativity, communication, and perseverance.
🏆 Celebrating an Incredible 2025–26 Season
Last year was an extraordinary season for Walton Science Olympiad.
🥇 1st Place — Regional Competition
🥇 1st Place — Georgia State Competition
🎓 Advanced to Nationals at the University of Southern California
🏆 1st Place — Brookwood Invitational
🏆 1st Place — UGA Invitational
At Nationals, Walton students earned an impressive:
- 6th Place — Experimental Design
- 4th Place — Robot Tour
- 4th Place — Protein Modeling (Trial Event)
- 26th Place Overall
Walton has now earned invitations to Nationals three of the last five years, continuing an outstanding run of achievement.
But our success isn’t measured only by medals and rankings. Last season, our students invested more than 14,500 hours preparing, practicing, testing, building, and learning. Along the way, they developed new skills, formed friendships, gained confidence, and discovered just how much they are capable of achieving.
And behind every one of those students is an incredible network of coaches, teachers, parents, and volunteers.

We NEED YOU!
Science Olympiad is a student-driven program—but it takes a whole community to support these students and help them achieve their dreams.
👟 Commit to 20 Volunteer Hours
We ask each family to plan for approximately 20 volunteer hours during the season.
No science degree required! One of the most important ways you can help is simply by supervising meetings at Walton. Help make sure students are following safety guidelines, wearing goggles during builds, and staying on task.
You’ll get to see our brilliant students at work—and maybe even get your daily steps in as you make your way up the stairs to the 4th-floor meeting room!

Saturday, November 14 — Tournament Day
This is one of our biggest events and an important fundraiser for Walton Science Olympiad. We welcome teams from across the country, and we need a large parent volunteer team to make it happen!
There are many ways to help—from:
- Team registration
- Tournament setup and cleanup
- Event support
- Concessions
- Student and team assistance
- General tournament operations
